The announcement wasn’t made on the second day of the ongoing UK-Africa Summit.

Mr. Boris said additional works and consultations were not completed on Nigeria and Somalia, and as such arrangements for the two countries would continue and more relaxed travel procedures would be announced later.

According to the PM, promoting investments between UK and Africa cannot achieve the needed results if borders are not removed. He added that, Africa has been the beneficiary of UK investments due to the continent’s opened borders to the UK. “We are losing out. Africans are not coming to invest because of visa issues. We’ve given you free entry now”, he added.

The PM, however, did not mention the effective date and it’s expected to commence soon.
