“Madina bridge is designed to create market for hawkers” – Roads and Highways Minister defends 1KM footbridge

Madina now has a one kilometer footbridge which Ghanaians find it very interesting due to the number of zigzags one has to draw with their bodies while using the bridge.

But Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta, Minister for Roads and Highways, has explained why they had to punish the people of Madina this way.

Amoako Atta says the bridge was designed with hawkers in mind to create market for them. “The long hours users will take to use the bridge will boost business of hawlers, especially pure water sellers.”, the Minister explained.

Meanwhile, Akufo Addo says he can’t use the bridge for fear of being hospitalised.
