Satirical Attaché at the Presidency, Hon. Baffour Gyawu, has said in a press statement that government has finalised the payment of $23 million to the Dubai Police on behalf to Menzgold CEO Nana Appiah Mensah, to have the gold dealer extradited to Ghana.

According to a 16-page statement released to the media, the payment was necessary to free NAM1 from the demeanor charges in Dubai to face major charges in Ghana. “A charge involving $2 billion is awaiting him in Ghana so it’s very necessary to pay Dubai $23 million to have citizen’s $2 billion for them”, the statement said.

The statement added that NAM1 lost his passport during his arrest in Dubai and as such the Ghana Embassy has been tasked to prepare a Travel Certificate to have him successfully extradited in the coming few days.
