There’s hope coming in for Boostpal investors in Ghana as MTN Ghana has accepted to pay all monies invested for fears of being sued by users of the platform for allowing their Mobile Money product to be used in the operations of the Boostpal ponzi scheme.
The giant telco has blocked GHS6 million belonging to Boostpal that were sent in by users of the platform for various upgrades.
Boostpal is challenging this decision by MTN and posted on a new website that the main Boostpal website has been hacked contrary to reports that they have absconded.
The introduction of mobile money in Ghana did not only ease financial transactions but also made scamming very easy.
A newly-formed Association of Boostpal Investors threatened MTN to refund all their investments or meet them in court.
According to the MTN CEO who spoke to Satirist Baffour Gyawu, all funds would be returned this week.
