The Tourism Minister Madam Catherine Afeku has said on this morning that the ministry has supported the ‘80% Ghana Music’ campaign with $6 million.
The minister made this known on about three different radio stations this morning and said the campaign “deserves government support”.
“This is a worthy cause and deserves government’s support. We met the campaigners yesterday and gave them $6 million to fund it” – the minister said.
The minister added that music forms an integral part of Ghana’s tourism and cannot be overlooked.
‘80% Ghana Music’ campaign started years ago but received so much support last week after Ghanaian artistes were snubbed in Nigeria.
Music lovers in Nigeria were chatting on WhatsApp and looking at the artistes in disdain while they perform their hit songs.
