HISTORY MADE: Shatta Wale’s Gringo appears on Billboard

Shatta Wale made history as the first Ghanaian artiste to have his music appear on Billboard’s Top 100 songs list.

Billboard’s top 100 songs features most popular current songs across all genres, ranked by radio airplay audience impressions and Gringo was comfortably spotted on the number 77 spot.

What makes his feat more glorious is the fact that he beat the likes of Wizkid, Stonebwoy and Davido who have never been featured on the list even though most of their songs are equally popular.

News7Pm.Com reached out to the dancehall champion via a phone conversation and he had this to say

“I’m very glad I made it to the list, it means I have gone international. I’m doing things even that Stonebwoy guy and Wizkid couldn’t do. I tell you, me Shatta Wale I’m blessed and even God knows this. They laughed at me when I told them that Gringo is international standard and I’m confident that I’ll even win a Grammy. Gringo is just the beginning, I’ll release the Conquer the world album soon and Ghanaians will understand me. Just watch out when in the streets of Accra and you will see the billboard.”

Interestingly Gringo, the new entrant on the hot 100 list, placed two places behind his crush Cardi B’s “Bartier Cardi” song. See the screenshot below.
